Moving a resolution in a party meeting chaired by AICC general secretary and in-charge of Delhi affairs, Oscar Fernandes, the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Jai Prakash Agarwal said that the Congress victory was possible only due to the dynamic leadership of the AICC chairperson, Sonia Gandhi and the development works carried out by the UPA government at the centre.

Credit was also given to AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi, who energised the youth of the country with his dynamic approach.

The resolution did not mention the name of Delhi Chief Minister, Sheila Dikshit, for victory of Congress candidates in Delhi.

Thanking the people of Delhi for electing all the seven Congress candidates in the parliamentary election, Agarwal said the record victory has put a heavy responsibility on the party, and every effort would be made to live up to the hopes aspirations of the people.

AICC general secretary Oscar Fernandes said the historic victory of the Congress in Delhi has helped the party to consolidate its hold, and serve the people better.
