Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president J. P. Agarwal met Lieutenant-Governor Tejendra Khanna on Friday and urged him to stop acquisition of farmers’ land and others by the government and other agencies till the time the Centre formulates a new land acquisition law.

Demanding an immediate cessation of all land acquisition being done by the government, Mr. Agarwal said such a step would benefit lakhs of people in Delhi.

According to Jai Prakash Agarwal, Lt. Governor fully agreed with his views and assured that necessary action would be taken.
