Addressing a public meeting organised by Poorvanchalis in Naraina for the Cantonment Board election, Delhi Congress president Jai Prakash Agarwal on Sunday assured that the party would undertake all pending development work on a war footing. He expressed the hope that the party will sweep all the eight wards in the area.
The Congress leader claimed that only his party could properly implement development projects in Delhi Cantonment area. He alleged that the BJP never took any interest in the development of the area and even though the Congress was out of power in the Cantonment Board, party leaders and workers were in forefront to solve people’s problems.
The Congress has contesting all the eight wards here. The elections are slated for May 18. Agarwal said the Congress has been working aggressively for making Delhi as a world-class city. He alleged that the BJP was playing politics to halt the development work, as it had done in the Cantonment area.
Nasirpur MLA Mahabal Mishra alleged that BJP was caught in its own internal power struggle and had no time for public service.
