A war of words has broken out between the Delhi Congress and the BJP over the sealing and demolition of unauthorised structures ahead of the Assembly elections in November this year. Members of Parliament from the Congress party in the Capital led by Delhi Congress president and Rajya Sabha member Jai Prakash Agarwal on Monday blamed the BJP leaders for the current sealing and demolition drive going in the city.
In a hurriedly convened Press conference, Agarwal questioned, “Kiske against jail bharo movement karene ja rahe hai aur kiske against. They are in power in MCD and it is MCD which is responsible for sealing and demolition in the city.” While blaming the BJP, Congress forgot that sealing and demolitions took place even during their regime when they were at the helm of affairs at Town Hall.
Delhi BJP leaders on Saturday threatened that if sealing and demolition in the Capital is not stopped then the party workers will start a Jail Bharo Movement.
