Delhi Congress President Jai Prakash Agarwal on Saturday said the Congress had always taken the lead in putting the nation on a path of progress and the nuclear deal would go a long way in accomplishing that mission.

Addressing Congress workers at a Vichar Goshthi on the nuclear deal he said it would address the power needs of the common man at reasonable rates and, thus, expedite national development.

Those who attended the Goshthi were MP Sajjan Kumar, Delhi’s Transport Minister Haroon Yusuf, MLAs Anil Bhardwaj, Kumar Gautam, Anjali Rai, Barkha Singh and Naseeb Singh.

Explaining the salient features of the Deal, Union Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma said the Congress-led UPA Government would never barter the interest of the country. He added that the Congress would not be deterred by the destructive forces hellbent on stalling the important Deal.
