A convention of the DPCC’s Industrial Cell was held in the Capital today. It was presided over by chairperson of the Industrial Cell Rajender Gupta.

DPCC president Jai Prakash Agarwal and state industries minister Mangat ram Singhal were also present.

Agarwal assured that measures would be taken to create a congenial atmosphere for the smooth functioning of industries in the capital. He said that the government had initiated steps for the profit of industrial units in designated zones. He assured workers that areas with 70 per cent industrial units would be declared industrial areas. 18 areas were already declared as industrial zones. He claimed that from the time of Prime Minister Late Indira Gandhi, every Congress government had undertaken steps to foster industrial growth in the Capital.

Singhal assured that the government would solve the problems of industrialists. He said that permission was granted to run 123 businesses in residential areas. This was a relief to small-scale businesses in residential areas. For bigger industrial units, the state government has created designated zones for the functioning of industrial units.
