Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Jai Prakash Agarwal on Friday organised a padayatra at Jahangirpuri. Thousands of Congress workers, carrying flags and placards, accompanied the padayatra up to P Block, Sabzi Mandi where Agarwal addressed a public meeting. Thousands of local residents also attended the public meeting. The padayatra was organised by Block Congress Committee president Sudhir Parcha. Besides Jai Prakash Agarwal others who participated in the padayatra were MLA Surinder Pal Singh Bitto, Harikishan Jindal, Deepak Tyagi, ex-MLA Zile Singh Chouhan, Ajit Yadav, Ram Kishan Rana, Baldev Pawar, GL Diwakar, Shrawan Kumar, Sunahri Anurag and Nasim Ali. Addressing the gathering Agarwal said some forces were determined to disturb the peace and calm of the Capital and asked the people of Delhi to be alert to the activities of such forces. He said that the BJP indulged only in corruption during the past four and a half years of its rule in the MCD. Aggarwal added that the state of sanitation has become worse during BJP’s rule in MCD but is least bothered about the problems of the people.
