The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president, Jai Prakash Agarwal visited the Block Congress Committees (BCCs) of Shakarpur and Preet Vihar, as he continued his programme of visiting each block of the Capital to interact with the block-level Congress workers.

Agarwal honoured the BCCs’ presidents, Ram Prashad of Shakarpur and Yogesh Kaushik of Preet Vihar, by draping them with shawls.

MP Sandeep Dikshit, Mandawali MLA Meera Bhardwaj, Viswasnagar MLA Naseeb Singh, district president Amrish Gautam, former municipal councillors of the areas and Congress workers were also present.

Agarwal exhorted party workers to propagate the party’s policies and programmes in their respective areas. He asserted that the BCCs formed the party’s foundation. He added that the party could not succeed unless the workers enjoy people’s confidence. He also talked of his responsibility to establish a cordial relationship between the party and the Government.

The Congress is the oldest political party in the country and has a history of serving people, without bowing to the pressures of communal forces. It aims at ensuring the overall growth of the country. Each party worker is responsible to enlighten the benefits of the Indo-US nuclear deal 123, which is intended for the uplift of common people, by making electricity available in every nook and corner of the country.
