NEW DELHI, Nov. 14—Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) president Shri Jai Prakash Agarwal, MP said the steps taken by former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru for the all round development of the country with foresight and fortitude were now bearing fruits as India was on the fast track of development. Addressing a large gathering of Congress workers and leaders, on the occasion of Pt. Nehru’s birth anniversary, at Rajiv Bhawan, the DPCC office here today Shri Agarwal said it was Nehru’s great vision that helped India overcome the teething troubles following the hard won freedom struggle and hurdle towards development, progress and prosperity.

DPCC president Shri Jai Prakash Agarwal, in his compact speech, said the Congress party not only won freedom for the country, but also put the country on the road to development and progress after independence by taking effective measures to tackle poverty elimination, universal education, industrial development and friendly relations with foreign countries which also helped the country benefit in myriad forms for its developmental process. Shri Agarwal said the people should take inspiration from the life of Pt. Nehru to take the country to a higher level of development and progress with discipline, dedication and commitment.

The DPCC screened a 30 minute documentary on Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru which fully captured his great role in the freedom struggle, the dynamic manner in which he steered the country to the path of progress and development with great vision and statesmanship and to keep in step with the developed countries.
